Iljin Hysolus joins Hyzon Alliance; Saulsbury, Charts join hydrogen project
The Hyzon Alliance aims to capitalise on its direct access to fleet operators worldwide to create hydrogen ecosystems parallel with vehicle deployments.
South Korea’s Iljin Hysolus has joined the Hyzon Zero Carbon Alliance, an initiative of leading companies working to accelerate hydrogen-powered mobility worldwide.
Iljin Hysolus is South Korea’s only mass-producer of hydrogen tube trailers and supplies hydrogen tubes for Hyundai Motor’s Nexo. Iljin Hysolus recently entered the hydrogen storage systems market with accreditation for its Type 4 hydrogen tube trailers and completed its Initial Public Offering in Seoul last month.
Membership is extended to organisations that have current, proven hydrogen-related operations. Iljin Hysolus brings extensive expertise in manufacturing hydrogen storage tanks and modules. Iljin Hysolus will join the ten current members of Hyzon Zero Carbon Alliance, including Ark Energy (a subsidiary of Korea Zinc), TotalEnergies, AXA, Bank of America, Hiringa Energy, Modern Group, NEOM, Raven SR, ReCarbon, and Woodside Energy.
Craig Knight, CEO of Hyzon Motors, said, “By expanding to include Iljin Hysolus, the Alliance strengthens its current ability to deploy hydrogen-powered vehicles as well as its future outlook.”
Hong Sang Ahn, CEO of Iljin Hysolus, commented, “We will contribute our expertise in hydrogen storage solutions to the Alliance in order to lift its aspirations.”
In a separate development, In the US, Saulsbury has been contracted for a pre-FEED (Front End Engineering and Design) study of a 30 tonne/day hydrogen liquefaction plant by a significant US-based utility provider. Saulsbury has now partnered with Chart Industries as the technology and equipment provider in the project. The companies will provide the preliminary basic design, conceptual planning, and economic feasibility for this scope.
