Win4H2 consortium aims for 50 green hydrogen stations across Spain
It is the first major hydrogen alliance for mobility corridors in Spain, consisting of building a network of 50 hydrogen stations.
Exolum, Naturgy and Scale Gas (a subsidiary of Enagás) have established Win4H2, the first major hydrogen alliance for mobility corridors.
The alliance will conduct joint analysis and development of green hydrogen production, distribution and supply infrastructures for the mobility industry across Spain.
The partners agreed to develop 50 hydrogen stations across Spain to guarantee hydrogen supply for users anywhere in mainland Spain. It is expected that the initiative will benefit the mobility sector, including passenger transport, logistics, taxis, private vehicles, port and airport transport etc.
These corridors aim to establish a network of renewable hydrogen supply points located around 300 km apart from each other, covering the whole national territory, with connection to international routes. The configuration would allow the supply within a radius of 150 km around each facility, requiring the availability of around 4,000-7,000 tonnes/year of a green hydrogen generation capacity in the initial stage. The network will be implemented gradually, reaching out to public and private entities for cooperation through public funding.
The three companies are already designing the first route, which will supply green hydrogen to Madrid, Valencia and Murcia/Cartagena and connect them through a hydrogen corridor. The route is selected due to the high volume of heavy-weight cargo and passenger transport.

Rafael Benjumeda, Naturgy’s New Business Development Manager, added, “This alliance is a response to the challenge faced by Spain in the energy transition, which will be further developed in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, where green hydrogen plays a major role within the EU.”
Fernando Impuesto, MD, Enagás Emprende, commented that this agreement is aligned with Enagas’ commitment to energy transition and decarbonisation.
