Enap and HIF Global strengthen green hydrogen partnership

The HIF and Enap agreement show the commitment to developing and promoting green hydrogen in Chile.

HIF Chile has signed a long-term lease contract with a state owned company Enap for 47 hectares of land in Cabo Negro, Punta Arenas in the Magallanes Region, Chile.

ENAP has been a crucial collaborator in its demonstration plant for the production of eFuels. The Haru Oni Demonstration Plant in Magallanes is under construction and is expected to start the production of eFuels during the second half of 2022.

The 47 hectares area will be used for the development, construction, operation and maintenance of the chemical plant of the first commercial phase that HIF will develop in Magallanes, which will include -among other components- all the electrolysers, the CO2 capture technology, methanol synthesis equipment and gasoline-methanol synthesis units (MtG).

Clara Bowman, GM of HIF Global, explained that this new agreement allows us to continue projecting this relationship for the following commercial phases. The location of the site in Cabo Negro is ideal for developing this initiative due to its proximity to port infrastructure and proximity to the renewable electricity generation plant that will feed the plant with green energy to make eFuels.

Andrés Roccatagliata, GM of Enap said that we would be actively present in all the initiatives that allow increasing the production of clean energies because we understand this task as an obligation with the region and with the country.
