Pure Hydrogen to develop hydrogen hubs across Australia
Pure Hydrogen Corp, a part of Australia’s Real Energy Corporation, establishing JV with Liberty Hydrogen to build four hydrogen production and distribution hubs. The JV will be known as Pure Hydrogen International, which will develop four large scale hubs on the east coast of Australia: two in Queensland, one in NSW, and one in Victoria. Pure Hydrogen will hold 60% shares while Liberty Hydrogen will hold 40% interest.
Liberty Hydrogen is 100% owned by a private investment company Liberty Energy Capital Pty Ltd which focus on renewable fuel and energy Projects.
The JV company aims to run small pilot plants at the four designated locations and supply hydrogen fuel locally, though the production capacity will grow as the market expands. The proximity of the hubs to ports can help the JV to sell to the export market.
The aim is to complete all the assembly work during 2021 and start negotiation with potential customers. The partners believe that there is immense potential for scale, underpinned by the anticipated high hydrogen demand in the Far East and North America.
Real Energy and Hyzon Motors partnership for hydrogen refuelling chain
The JV agreement follows Real Energy Corporation MoU with HYZON Motors earlier this month on developing hydrogen refuelling stations in Australia. Both companies agreed to support the Australian hydrogen market by providing various solutions such as offering Hyzon Motor’s hydrogen-powered fleet and developing hydrogen refuelling stations network across Australia.
The Australian government promotes hydrogen economy through its National Hydrogen Strategy and aims to encourage Hydrogen as a mainstream technology by 2030.
The New York-based, Hyzon Motors, was formed in 2020, as a spinoff from Singapore’s Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies. It supplies hydrogen fuel-cell-powered commercial vehicles such as buses, coaches and medium & heavy-duty trucks.
