Green Hydrogen Systems to supply electrolysers to Octopus Hydrogen project in UK
The company is delivering electrolysers to numerous projects in Europe and Australia.
Green Hydrogen Systems, a supplier of pressurised alkaline electrolysers for on-site hydrogen production, will deliver electrolysis equipment to the Octopus Hydrogen project in the UK.
Octopus Hydrogen, a provider of ‘green hydrogen as a service, is leading the project in the UK. Green Hydrogen Systems will be responsible for supplying the electrolyser and will provide on-site maintenance and remote monitoring and support as part of a three-year service agreement.
Green Hydrogen Systems will supply two GHS HyProvide™ A90 electrolysers, deployed in a 40 ft container as a complete green hydrogen plant, with a combined capacity of 0.9 MW. Once fully operational in Q2 2022, the electrolysers will produce around 389 kg/day of green hydrogen using solar energy.
Søren Rydbirk, CCO of Green Hydrogen Systems, said, “We at Green Hydrogen Systems are thrilled that Octopus Hydrogen has chosen our efficient electrolysis technology for this project to contribute to the UK’s independence from fossil fuels and its ongoing energy transition.”
This is Green Hydrogen Systems second project in the UK, increasing its UK installation base to 1.8 MW. Green In June 2021, Green Hydrogen Systems raised DKK 1,265 million in its initial public offering on Nasdaq Copenhagen. The company planned to use the net offering in expanding its production capabilities. It has launched its next phase of production facilities expansion to 400 MW and acquires factory land and buildings. It plans to increase its current annual electrolyser production capacity from 75 MW to 400 MW worth of electrolysers by 2023, which later can be further scaled to manufacture electrolysers with 1,000 MW capacity annually.
