Green Hydrogen Systems to supply 1MW electrolysers to the UK
There is a growing trend towards hydrogen-powered generators, especially in the construction industry.
Green Hydrogen Systems will supply two electrolysers for a green hydrogen project to an undisclosed customer. This is the first order it received from the UK. The order consists of two GHS HyProvide A90 electrolysers with a combined capacity of around 1 MW and will be delivered at the end of 2021.
The electrolysers will produce green hydrogen using renewable electricity. These electrolysers will be housed in a 40 ft container. The project is expected to be operational at the start of 2022, producing 389 kg/day of green hydrogen. As per the deal, the Green Hydrogen Systems will also provide on-site maintenance and remote monitoring as part of a three-year service agreement.
The main end-users of the hydrogen will be the charging stations and off the grid construction sites. The hydrogen will be transported in tube trailers and delivered to these various sites throughout the UK, where a local hydrogen-powered generator will convert the hydrogen to power the sites.
Soren Rydbirk, COO Green Hydrogen Systems, said, “The UK’s high renewable energy capacity coupled with strong climate targets are quickly paving the way for it to become one of the leaders in the green hydrogen sector.”
