Volt Carbon expands graphene and graphite development with operational update

Volt Carbon Technologies Inc. reports continued progress on its advanced materials strategy, including the development of its proprietary dry separation technology designed to preserve graphite crystallinity for downstream applications such as graphene and expandable graphite.

The company says its focus remains on scaling material development and supporting early commercial evaluation programs across battery materials and advanced industrial applications. While revenues remain modest and non-material, Volt notes that project-based activity continues to help offset operating costs as it advances toward commercial readiness.

Volt Carbon has expanded its product scope to include reduced graphene oxide for use in strengthening composites and concrete, as well as expandable graphite for thermal management and fire protection applications. These developments build on its existing processing platform, which allows multiple product streams to be produced using shared infrastructure.

The company has also added equipment to support batch-scale production, enabling internal testing and customer evaluation of graphene-based materials and expandable graphite products. In addition, Volt Carbon announced the grant of two million stock options to employees and contractors under its stock option plan, exercisable at $0.05 per share over five years.
