Verde and Isometric Partner to Turn Roads into Scalable Carbon Removal Infrastructure

Verde Resources Inc. has announced a strategic collaboration with Isometric aimed at scaling high-integrity carbon credits through infrastructure, marking a notable convergence between construction materials and carbon markets.

The partnership focuses on accelerating the certification and commercial deployment of engineered biochar used in Verde’s BioAsphalt™ technology. By embedding biochar—a carbon-rich material produced from biomass—into asphalt, the company is seeking to transform road networks into long-term carbon storage systems, effectively turning everyday infrastructure into measurable carbon sinks.

Central to the collaboration is Isometric’s rigorous certification framework, which ensures that each carbon credit corresponds to a verified tonne of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere. Its biochar protocol incorporates full lifecycle accounting, strict feedstock requirements and durability assessments, with certified storage durations ranging from 200 years to more than 1,000 years. This level of verification is designed to address longstanding concerns over the quality and credibility of carbon credits.

Verde’s approach integrates this certified biochar into road materials, creating a dual-purpose solution that combines infrastructure performance with climate mitigation. By locking carbon into asphalt, the company aims to deliver both durability benefits for road construction and a scalable pathway for carbon removal tied directly to physical assets.

To support this effort, supply chain validation is already underway. A key U.S. production partner has completed facility audits under Isometric’s standards, while Verde’s own biochar facility in Borneo is undergoing similar verification. These steps are intended to establish a fully traceable and compliant supply chain capable of supporting large-scale deployment.

The collaboration is further supported by Isometric’s AI-driven certification platform, which streamlines data collection and verification processes. This digital infrastructure is expected to enable continuous monitoring, faster issuance of carbon removal credits and improved transparency for investors and regulators.

Beyond certification, the partnership is positioned to unlock broader commercial opportunities. Verde is working to integrate its BioAsphalt™ technology into global markets through existing asphalt production and distribution networks, with ambitions to expand across North America and into Asia-Pacific regions. The model is designed to be replicable, allowing governments and private sector partners to deploy carbon-sequestering infrastructure without significant upfront capital investment.

As carbon markets continue to evolve, the ability to link verified carbon removal directly to physical infrastructure could represent a significant shift in how climate solutions are financed and scaled. By combining engineered materials with robust certification standards, Verde and Isometric are aiming to position infrastructure itself as a new asset class within the global carbon economy.
