SFC Energy becomes OEM for Nordic Yachting

The EFOY fuel cell generates environmentally friendly electricity onboard and can potentially reduce emissions of combustion engines and generators.

SFC Energy AG (a hydrogen and methanol fuel cell supplier for stationary and mobile hybrid power solutions) has become an OEM for Winner Yachts (a brand of the shipyard Nordic Yachting).

The cooperation between Winner Yachts and SFC Energy will benefit customers, where they can equip their boats with an EFOY fuel cell at Winner Yachts dealers. The collaboration will contribute to environmental protection within the yachting community and an absolute added value for customers on every cruise.

The fuel cell power pack is small and easy to install and can ensure a clean power supply onboard. EFOY Hybrid Power, a combination of fuel cell and lithium battery is ideal for power generation and storage, whereas the EFOY fuel cell can also charge the battery that powers the engine.

Dr Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy AG, said, “We want to expand our OEM strategy with renowned and innovative partners and strengthen it with complementary technologies.”

Christoph Becker, the owner of Nordic Yachting, said, “Sustainable production processes and solutions are very important to us. We are continuously working to improve in this area. Therefore, it was only logical to offer environmentally friendly alternatives for onboard power supply to our customers.

In September 2020, SFC Energy announced close cooperation with electric boat engine manufacturer ePropulsion, making further inroads in the leisure boat sector.

Nordic Yachting is one of the leading European shipyards and dealers in the leisure boat sector in Europe.
