Nouveau Monde expects graphite extraction in Q1

Nouveau Monde Graphite (NMG) expects to get government authorisation for Matawinie graphite mine in the first quarter this year. It aims to complete the development of the purification facility in the first half of 2021.

This will enable the company to start building partnerships and negotiating supply agreements with battery makers and OEMs. The project is expected to start commercial operation by 2023.

The Matawinie graphite project is 100% owned by NMG and located in Québec, Canada. The graphite concentrate production is reached to 100k tonnes/year with finished product concentrate purity of 97% Cg (Cg means total carbon in graphite form).

The company is likely to benefit from the clean energy drive, and well-positioned to supply its high-quality battery anode materials to the growing lithium-ion and fuel cell markets.
