McPhy partners with Hype; H2 Clipper enters accelerator program

McPhy and Hype agreement is part of a strategic approach to contribute to integrating the hydrogen industry in France.

McPhy has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Hype for zero-emission urban mobility solutions in France and Europe.

Hype will leverage its expertise as an operator of hydrogen vehicles and infrastructures and McPhy as a supplier of hydrogen production and distribution solutions for zero-emission mobility.

The cooperation between the two groups will materialise in 2022 with firm orders for the supply to Hype of a 2 to 4 MW alkaline electrolyser and an 800 kg/day hydrogen station. These first orders could be followed by additional orders in 2023 for a new multi-megawatt electrolyser and five additional high-capacity hydrogen stations. With a potential of orders of 50 stations and 15 to 25 MW by 2025, this cooperation opens many opportunities in the medium term

The agreement covers the deployment by Hype of a minimum of 100 stations in France and Europe, of which 50% would be allocated to McPhy. As part of this agreement, McPhy would also be designated as the preferred partner to supply 15 to 25 MW of alkaline electrolysis.

In addition to their commercial collaboration, McPhy will have access to the data collected by Hype vehicles to optimise its offer of stations and electrolysers. This technological partnership is based on expertise to standardise equipment, improve technical performance and increase their economic competitiveness. Once the order is fully confirmed, McPhy will subscribe to around €12 million in Hype’s convertible bonds, which may be converted into Hype shares.

Hype and the HRS also reached a similar co-exclusivity agreement to supply high-capacity hydrogen refuelling stations.

Meanwhile, H2 Clipper, Inc. (an aerospace and alternative energy company) has been selected for inclusion in Dassault Systèmes’ exclusive 3Dexperince Lab accelerator program. Participation in the accelerator will help H2 Clipper advance its mission of developing and commercialising a global fleet of 100% green airships that transform the hydrogen and air transport industry. It will now have an opportunity to expand its use of software applications from Dassault Systèmes.

H2 Clipper anticipates completing a detailed design and construction of a prototype to fly in 2024, to fly its first full-sized airship in 2027. The company already has developed a significant body of design and intellectual property assets, heavily relying upon Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA software applications.
