Howden wins ‘Hydrogen Technology of the Year’ at the hydrogen future awards

Howden has won ‘Hydrogen Technology of the Year’ in the annual Hydrogen Future Awards.

The awards hosted this month at Connecting Green Hydrogen MENA 2023, acknowledge the advanced technologies, solutions and digital innovations that organisations have developed to positively impact the hydrogen industry in aspects of production, storage, transportation and application.

As a pioneer in the sector, Howden’s leading technologies support its customers’ sustainability goals by enabling energy systems toward reduced and zero carbon emissions. Compression technologies are a key component across the hydrogen value chain and Howden’s hydrogen reciprocating compressors can be found at the heart of a number of industry-leading projects around the world.

These include the world’s largest HRS in China; green hydrogen production at Niagara Hydrogen Centre in Canada; the world’s first container vessel operating on carbon-neutral fuel; and Europe’s largest renewable hydrogen plant.

We are proud that our hydrogen technology and expertise are making a real contribution to our customers’ net-zero targets. Recognised as a global leader in hydrogen compression solutions, our highly skilled and driven team, along with our trusted product portfolio, are supporting our customers with their energy transition and moves toward a cleaner energy future.

We consider every operator experience as unique and for Howden, the technology deployed is just as important as the way it is applied. Of particular importance to us has been the safe and efficient application of technology, enabling us to demonstrate our skills as a market leader in the sector.

Howden recently released an update on its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) progress, which includes a 23% reduction in its scope 1 & 2 carbon emissions during 2022. Howden’s most significant positive environmental impact comes through its work with customers where the company supports the reduction of emissions through the development and supply of air and gas handling solutions, many of which support the energy transition and the decarbonisation efforts of its customers.
