GKN Powder Metallurgy to launch new hydrogen business
GKN Hydrogen aims to provide safe, emission-free green hydrogen storage to help organisations achieve their carbon neutrality goals.
Germany based GKN Powder Metallurgy, a supplier of powder metal solutions, is going to launch a 100% recyclable hydrogen storage solution unit next week.
To fully benefit from the growing business, the company has established a new business segment called GKN Hydrogen which will be formally lunch next week. GKN Hydrogen’s green hydrogen storage technology is based on metal hydrides.
The company has been working on the technology for over eight years, which generate green hydrogen from renewable energy sources, storing it compactly and safely in metal hydride over long periods. The hydrogen can be then used directly or converted back into electricity and heat for various applications.
The technology can be used as an emergency power backup and off-grid energy supply for residential, maritime, or industrial purposes.
GKN Powder Metallurgy is a part of Melrose PLC and composed of GKN Powders, GKN Sinter Metals, GKN Additive and GKN Hydrogen.
Peter Oberparleiter, Chief Executive Officer at GKN Powder Metallurgy, said, “We are helping to solve the issue of hydrogen storage and provide clean energy for all that is green, safe and compact.
