Alzchem enters hydrogen tanks market; Saic’ SHPT to go public
Alzchem plans to increase its exposure in the fuel cell market for the e-mobility market through hydrogen storage.
Alzchem Group AG has developed a technological all-in-one solution for more efficient fibre winding of carbon fiber-reinforced hydrogen pressure cylinders to offer manufacturers significant advantages in processing, surface quality, and quality control.
The company is in discussions with manufacturers in the mass automotive market globally to establish a solution in the manufacturing process of high-performance H2 pressure cylinders. Alzchem is already working with several OEMs in markets where technology is at the forefront.
Andreas Niedermaier, CEO of Alzchem Group AG, said, “With our Dyhard® Fluid System, we are addressing all types of e-mobility based on fuel cell technology, i.e. primarily commercial vehicles, maritime solutions and rail transport.”
Dr. Georg Weichselbaumer, CSO of Alzchem Group AG, added, “With our solution, we enable the hydrogen pressure cylinders to be manufactured as efficiently as possible, but at the same time, we are not dependent on the respective technology or the specific fuel cell system. This enables us to address the entire market spectrum of e-mobility based on fuel cell technology.”
In a separate development, Saic Motor has recently announced its plan to spin off its fuel cell tech development unit, Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion Technology Co., Ltd. (SHPT). It will make it to go public on the Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
