Brazil Ceara and Linde formalise green hydrogen project in Pecém
Ceará aims to produce green hydrogen (H2V) in the Pecem Industrial and Port Complex (CIPP).
Linde (German multinational industrial gases and engineering company) and Ceara (a state in northeastern Brazil) today (29th October) have signed an agreement for the implementation of a green hydrogen plant in Ceará, Brazil.
As reported by H2 Bulletin yesterday, this is the 12th MoU signed by Governor Camilo Santana to attract investments to the Green Hydrogen HUB of Ceará. Ceara Governor Camilo Santana has signed the agreement in Linde HQ in Germany. Linde is represented in South America by White Martins.
Governor Camilo Santana said, “Linde is investing a lot in technologies in the area of Green Hydrogen and sees Ceará with great potential for the production of clean energy, due to favourable wind and sun conditions, in addition to the privileged location of the state.”
David Burns, Linde’s Global VP, added, “Linde has been looking for partners, and Ceará has a lot of potential in this regard. I believe this will be a very important partnership for the state, for Brazil and for Europe.”
Governor Camilo Santana has been on a foreign tour to promote investment in Ceara, especially in green hydrogen. He will also attend the opening of COP26 in Glasgow, UK, which is the leading climate conference of the United Nations (UN).
