Dongfeng Motor adds hydrogen trucks in operation
The automaker has added hydrogen-powered fuel trucks on the road.
Dongfeng Motor has speeding up its efforts to launch its hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, H2 Bulletin reports.
Dongfeng independently develops the 12-ton hydrogen fuel cell logistics vehicle to meet intra-city and inter-city logistics needs. The 12-ton hydrogen fuel cell logistics vehicle is included in the ‘Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products’ (batch 346) registration issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The model is equipped with a large-capacity hydrogen storage system, combined with a fuel cell system and vehicle energy management system, to achieve a 600 km range.
Meanwhile, Dongfeng Motor has put into operation a fleet of 20 hydrogen fuel cells Dongfeng Tianlong KL tractor trucks in Yilu Station in Xushui District, Baoding City, Hebei Province, China.
Dongfeng Tianlong KL hydrogen fuel cell tractor is jointly launched by Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle and Weishi Energy. It also has a large-volume hydrogen system with a full-load driving range of 350 km. The vehicle can be operated in a harsh environment of as low as -30°C.
It has an integrated insulation structure, internal insulation and blocking process, while the hydrogen consumption is 10% lower than that of the industry, and the energy recovery is 10% higher.
In November 2020, Dongfeng Technology Center and Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement for carrying out cross-unit R&D collaboration and leverage their respective advantages in the field of hydrogen fuel cell and light commercial vehicle development to jointly develop 8 tons, 12 tons and 18-ton fuel cell commercial models.
