ECT, Gaussin & Bouygues Energies to develop hydrogen trucks solutions
All three partners are committed to environmental transformation and aim to create an ecosystem of clean transportation solutions for public works.
ECT, Gaussin and Bouygues Energies & Services will work on developing hydrogen transportation solutions in the public works sector, with the first vehicles to be commissioned in 2022.
ECT will lead the project and entrust Bouygues Energies & Services to develop a 2 MW renewable hydrogen production and distribution station, while Gaussin to design and implement studies for three types of Gaussin hydrogen trucks.
The trucks will be intended for two applications. One application would be for on-site transport consisting of a dozen 10×4, 70-ton tipper vehicles with 10 hours of autonomy; and a 10×4 tipper carrier in an autonomous version without a cabin, which can carry an additional 25% payload. The second application would be for road transport to the site composed of several 4×2, 44-ton tractors with a range of 500 km.
Bouygues Energies & Services brings its expertise in producing renewable hydrogen and in the distribution of this alternative fuel for existing industrial needs.
The project should support the industrialisation of producing a heavy truck model dedicated to the public works sector. It aims to contribute to the creation of a hydrogen mobility sector for the public works sector.
The project will be submitted to Ademe as part of the call for projects to promote hydrogen mobility solutions.

Christophe Gaussin, CEO of Gaussin, said, “This first contract for Gaussin’s modular hydrogen and electric “skateboard” and its version for public works carriers and tractors comes less than a month after the official presentation of this revolutionary vehicle.”
