Karbon-X Partners On Kenya Land Restoration And Biomass Project

Canadian climate solutions company Karbon-X Corp has announced a strategic partnership with REGID International to jointly evaluate the Kenya BioHub Initiative, an integrated land restoration and biomass programme intended to support industrial decarbonisation in Kenya.
Under the agreement, Karbon-X will conduct a feasibility assessment covering the technical, commercial, financial and regulatory viability of the initiative, which is designed to restore degraded land, produce sustainable biomass and support decarbonisation of Kenyan industry. The assessment will also identify the most appropriate carbon certification, implementation and commercialisation pathway for the project, should it proceed to full development.
Karbon-X, listed on the OTCQB under the ticker KARX, describes itself as a vertically integrated climate solutions company offering services spanning both compliance and voluntary carbon markets, from project origination and emissions quantification through to verification support, credit issuance and market distribution. The company said the Kenya partnership forms part of its wider strategy to expand its international pipeline of climate infrastructure projects.
Subject to a successful feasibility outcome, the companies say the initiative could progress toward development as a formally certified carbon project, with the potential to generate carbon credits intended to support long-term investment, strengthen the programme’s financial sustainability and deliver benefits to local communities and landowners involved in the scheme. No specific figures for expected carbon volumes, land area or investment value were disclosed in the announcement, with these details expected to emerge as the feasibility assessment progresses.
Karbon-X said the collaboration would draw on its expertise across carbon markets, climate finance, project development and commercialisation, working alongside REGID International to determine the long-term development potential of the initiative. Further details on project timelines, methodology selection and expected credit volumes are expected to follow once the feasibility assessment is complete.
