Karbon-X expands carbon project portfolio with Libya advisory role
Karbon-X has secured a technical advisory contract to support the development of a proposed nature-based carbon project in Libya, expanding its international footprint in the growing carbon markets sector.
The climate solutions company has been appointed by Stream Pro Ltd, a subsidiary of Oilinvest, to provide technical expertise for the early-stage design and optimisation of the project, which is planned for the Tripoli Wildlife Park.
The engagement marks the latest addition to Karbon-X’s international project development portfolio and reflects increasing demand for specialist support in developing carbon projects that meet internationally recognised standards.
Under the agreement, Karbon-X will provide end-to-end technical advisory services covering carbon project design, methodology assessment, Project Design Documentation (PDD), carbon accounting and the development of Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) frameworks. The company will also prepare the technical documentation required to support future validation under recognised carbon certification programmes.
The proposed project aims to restore degraded landscapes through afforestation and wider ecosystem restoration activities. In addition to increasing long-term carbon sequestration, the initiative is intended to enhance biodiversity, strengthen ecosystem resilience and support environmental objectives within the Tripoli Wildlife Park.
Karbon-X said the current engagement is focused solely on establishing the technical foundation for the project. Any future work, including validation, registration, implementation or commercialisation, will depend on separate agreements, regulatory approvals and client decisions.
Chief Executive Chad Clovis said demand is increasing for technical expertise as organisations seek to develop high-integrity carbon projects capable of delivering both environmental and commercial value.
He said successful carbon projects require a strong scientific and technical foundation from the earliest stages of development, adding that Karbon-X’s role is to help clients build credible carbon strategies aligned with internationally recognised standards.

The Libya engagement strengthens Karbon-X’s presence in emerging carbon markets as governments and businesses continue to invest in high-quality carbon projects to support climate goals and voluntary carbon market demand.
