Haffner Energy clears key certification hurdle for its new-generation H6 hydrogen technology

Haffner Energy has passed the main qualification milestone for its new-generation H6 technology, with an independent, first-rank international certification body validating the methodology and production data behind the stable output of syngas from its biomass thermolysis process.
Syngas, a synthetic gas made up mainly of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, can be converted through well-established catalytic processes into green hydrogen as well as biomethanol, renewable methane, renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel.
The company said the qualification confirms that the technical enhancements built into H6 are delivering the expected performance, that the system runs reliably from commissioning at sustained production rates, and that its mechanical behaviour matches the modelling done during design.
According to Haffner Energy, stable syngas production was achieved from the very first biomass feed, with a highly stable thermal profile and a marked improvement in the intrinsic quality of the syngas even before any purification stage.
The result is described as a decisive step towards commercial deployment of the new generation, which will be installed in the company’s C-iC modules, notably under its CORE100 reservation programme covering 100 standardised units and more than €300 million in potential revenue.
The next milestone, planned for autumn 2026, will target the production of mobility-grade hydrogen, the most demanding application for gas purity, before extending validated performance to renewable methane and methanol.
