Energy Concepts introduces modular energy platform for AI data centers with on-site power, water and carbon capture

Energy Concepts has introduced Plato5X, a modular infrastructure platform designed to provide AI and cloud data centers with on-site electricity, cooling, water production and carbon capture while reducing dependence on utility infrastructure.
The 5 MW Integrated Energy Platform combines natural gas cogeneration, absorption cooling, water recovery and carbon capture technologies. Each module can produce 5,000 kW of electricity, 12,000 gallons of water and 11,000 gallons of food-grade liquid CO₂ per day, while capturing more than 90% of combustion-generated carbon emissions.
The platform is designed to operate without utility power or municipal water and can convert captured CO₂ into food-grade liquid carbon dioxide for commercial and industrial applications.
Energy Concepts said Plato5X is intended to address the growing infrastructure requirements of high-density AI and cloud computing facilities, including power availability, water consumption, cooling demand and carbon emissions.
The system can be scaled from smaller edge facilities to hyperscale data centers. A 100 MW installation could potentially produce up to 240,000 gallons of water and 220,000 gallons of food-grade liquid CO₂ per day.
The company said the modular system can be financed, built and operated independently of a data center’s main computing infrastructure, potentially reducing upfront investment requirements and infrastructure constraints.
Energy Concepts added that Plato5X can also be deployed outside the data-center sector at facilities requiring substantial electricity, cooling and heating.
